Bernini Bust is my first book of Iain Pears. As usual I found it accidentaly. At the first captured me career of author - Iain Pears is art historian, novelist and journalist. And we have art historian in our family. Secondly main character Jonathan Argyll is art historian too. He is not very successful trader with objects of art, appraiser and detective and co-operates with charmer Flavia di Stefano and despotic General Bottando - both are members of Italian (fictitious) Art Squad. Crimes in books concern always anyway about object of art.
Why I like this books? Because of their intelligence, familiarity of milieu, dry english humour, not at least likeable main charcters. /
Záhada Berniniho busty je moja prvá kniha od Iaina Pearsa. Ako obvykle som ju objavila náhodou. Prvé ma zaujalo povolanie autora - Iain Peras je kunsthistorik, novinár a píše romány. A my máme v rodine kunsthistorika. Po druhé - aj hlavný hrdina Jonathan Argyll je kunsthistorik. Je neveľmi úspešný obchodník s umeleckými dielami, súdny znalec a detektív a spolupracuje so šarmantnou Flaviou di Stefano a despotickým generálom Bottandom - obaja sú členmi talianskej (fiktívnej) Vyšetrovacej skupiny pre umenie. Zločiny sa v knihách vždy nejakým spôsobom týkajú umeleckých diel.
Prečo sa mi knihy páčia? Pre ich inteligenciu, znalosť prostredia, suchý anglický humor, v neposlednom rade pre sympatické hlavné postavy.
